Mission: This corporation is organized and operated exclusively to promote and advance Southern Virginia’s economic potential, viability and competitiveness by the support and encouragement of the development of high level educational and job skill advancement opportunities within the region for its residents.

The Foundation Supports Workforce Training & College Degree Programs

SVHEF’s financial support of programs and students in Southern Virginia the Foundation brings life-changing opportunities to residents of the region.

Each year we award thousands of dollars in scholarships to students enrolled in college degree or job training programs in Southern Virginia. A variety of awards are available and we encourage every student to submit a scholarship application.

The Foundation’s work is possible because of generous donors like you.

The Community Campus on the Hill

The SVHEF is convientently located in historic downtown South Boston, Virginia. The Community Campus on the Hill is also home to our local performing arts center, The Prizery, and the Halifax County Chamber of Commerce.
