About SVHEF

Our Mission:

To promote and enhance continuing educational opportunities for the

citizens of Halifax County, VA and the surrounding area.

• Since 1997, the Southern Virginia Higher Education Foundation continues to bring opportunities for post-secondary education, workforce training, and arts education to Southern Virginia.

• This corporation is organized and operated exclusively to promote and advance Southern Virginia’s economic potential, viability and competitiveness by the support and encouragement of the development of high level educational and job skill advancement opportunities within the region for its residents.

• The Foundation Supports Workforce Training & College Degree Programs.

• SVHEF’s financial support of programs and students in Southern Virginia brings life-changing opportunities to residents of the region.

• Each year we award thousands of dollars in scholarships to students enrolled in college degree or job training programs in Southern Virginia.   A variety of awards are available and we encourage every student to submit a scholarship application.
