Prizery Summer Camps
Schools out. Hooray. Now what? The Prizery has something for everyone this Summer to help your mind be creative and keep the imagination fluids flowing. There are a variety of week-long day camps for the kiddos starting in July. Plus an evening class, Stained Glass Stepping Stones, geared for teens, adults, and seniors starting on June 18th.
The day camps are set for appropriate age groups and themes. Students as young as 3 can participate in exploring the jungle and adventures with Bluey. For those who have no idea about Bluey, he is an adorable and wildly enthusiastic blue heeler puppy exploring the world.
Options for the Lego fanatics include three weeks of Building Buddies with Devin Hall. The Building Buddies class will explore outer space, create games, mazes, and design a one of a kind creation with an instruction booklet.
“Using just our imagination and bricks, we will build an adventure that has never been built before,” said Devin Hall.
Any proper summer camp will include Taylor Swift, check out “Eras with Taylor Swift.” Students will travel Swift’s journey to fame while creating fashion pieces. Of course there will be glitter makeup, singing and dancing to Swift’s pop hits.
Laura Boyett, instructor of The Era’s Tour, Taylor Swift Camp stated, “Friendship bracelets are such a big part of The Eras tour and the Swiftie community. I’m excited students will have the opportunity to make these fun bracelets at camp.”
There are camps for painting, pottery, and art history buffs to explore the entertainment life, style, and foods from times of the Renaissance to the Revolutionary War.
The best news of all is scholarship opportunities available. The Ann and Sterling Edmunds Scholarship For the Arts, established in 2022, is awarded to low- and moderate-income students and minorities of all ages who live in Halifax, Mecklenburg, or Charlotte County. The recipients must seek to enroll in art classes offered by the Community Arts Center Foundation located at The Prizery, 700 Bruce Street, South Boston, Virginia.
